Panzer Corps features turn-based, hex-based tactical gameplay set during World War II. The game features a large branching campaign with 26 scenarios and the outcome of one scenario will determine the challenges a player faces in the following scenarios. The campaign also allows players to build a core force that will travel with the player throughout the campaign and units can gain experience, be upgraded, or even obtain heroes of war. The game also features over 800 different units, across 19 different classes, with 20 different stats 17 terrain types, and all major and minor factions are represented. Panzer Corps also feature multiplayer using its PBEM++ multiplayer and extensive modding capabilities. Players can play a large branching campaign of linked scenarios where they build and maintain a core force throughout all of the scenarios. In campaign mode, the outcome of one scenario will determine the challenges a player faces in the following scenarios. ![]() The base game is provided with 2 campaigns, the tutorial campaign and the Wehrmacht campaign, with additional campaigns provided by the various DLCs. Most campaigns also give players the ability to choose which time period they want to start from. Tutorial: The tutorial teaches the player the basics of the game. Wehrmacht: The main campaign, where players get to lead Germany through World War II in a series of historical and theoretical scenarios with the possibility of changing history.In this campaign, players command a group of recruits in a series of training missions against a second group of recruits controlled by the AI. 1943 - Western Front: This choice starts players on the Eastern Front in Italy during 1943.1943 - Eastern Front: This choice starts players on the Eastern Front in 1943 with the Battle of Kursk.1941 - Operation Barbarossa: This choice starts players at the start of the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941 with Operation Barbarossa.1939 - Early Blitzkriegs: This choice starts players at the very start of the war in 1939 with the invasion of Poland.The Wehrmacht campaign can be started from four different points. Players can play individual scenarios that have no core force carryover. Scenarios often provide a default starting force with the option to purchase more units, or for players to build their own core force. Some scenarios will also provide units with some experience at the start of a battle. PBEM++ is a system where players can log-in to a server and player against others from any part of the world. It uses an asynchronous multiplayer system meaning that both players do not need to be online at the same time in order to play. During a match, a player can take their turn and then upload the results to the server while the other player is offline. ![]() The server will then notify the next player that it is their turn and they can log-in and take their turn once they are ready. There are 5 primary difficulties, 3 bonus difficulties, and numerous additional options, as well as the ability to create a custom difficulty. This sets player prestige and experience to 200%, AI prestige and experience to 50%, gives the player an additional 5 turns, sets AI level to 0, and decreases max AI unit strength by 5.
